About Wargames.MY

Wargames.MY is a 24-hour online CTF hacking game. Well, it is a competition of sorts.

The objective of this game is to provide a platform for Malaysian IT security enthusiasts to test their skills and knowledge, or maybe just to play for fun and network. Open to all Malaysians – students, academics, professionals, hobbyists or anyone.

The format is based on Jeopardy style; there are minimum of 20 challenges related to cybersecurity that need to be solved. The challenges cover various areas including web application, reverse engineering, cryptography, and others.

Wargames.MY welcomes any contribution to the prize pool or if you have other specific stuff to contribute, do drop us an email. We are more than happy to talk to you.

Rules & Regulations

• There will be two categories divisions (We are sorry!): International Open and Malaysia Student.
• For International Open category division:
  • There is no team size limit.
  • Anyone in the World can register.
  • Register directly on CTFd platform.
  • Scoreboard of this category division will be uploaded to CTFTime.
• For Malaysia Student category division:
  • Maximum of THREE(3) people per team.
  • Registration restricted to Students studying in Malaysia.
  • Register via Google Form: WARGAMES.MY 2024 CTF ENDED
  • Scoreboard of this category division will be published in the Discord server.


• No off-the-shelf automated scanning tools such as Nessus, OpenVAS, etc. It's useless and we'll kick you out for that lame ass shit.
• No cooperation between players with independent team. Sharing of flags or providing direction hints to other players is cheating; don't do it.
• No attacking the competition infrastructure. If bugs or vulns are found, please alert the competition organizers immediately.
• No sabotaging of other competing players, or in any way hindering their independent progress.
• No brute forcing of challenge flags/keys against the scoring server.
• No flooding and/or DoS attacks, No ARP spoofing. Teams caught in the act will be penalized by a time penalty or a disqualification.


• At all times, the decision of the Wargames.MY Crew is final on any matter in question.

Prize Eligibility

• To be eligible for the cash prizes, you must be Malaysian citizens.
• If you are not Malaysian citizens, you are only eligible for the swag prizes.
• Winners to submit write-ups within 48 hours after the CTF ends to be eligible for the prizes.
• If you win and prefer not to submit write-up, you're still welcomed to register and play; however, you won't be eligible for any prizes.
